The editors at HefferBrew kick off Week 10 of the NFL season with their takes on tonight’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Jaguars and the Colts.
These Thursday Night Football games have been nothing but trouble. Not only have fans been treated to 9 weeks of mediocre games, but we’ve also seen shocking upsets of talented teams that simply seem to phone it in. Even the teams playing in the games can look at them as kind of a joke. This week we have the surging Colts taking on the lowly Jaguars. Who makes the NFL schedule? We need to have a little discussion about this for next season.
Dustin: Colts- #chuckstrong is officially more than a phenomenon. Chuck Pagano has made a larger impact away from the field than Chan Gailey, Rex Ryan and whoever’s calling the shots for Cleveland combined have on the field. Pagano’s been facing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with leukemia and has been forced away from his team in just his first season as coach. The team has undoubtedly rallied around him, Rookie of the Year candidate QB Andrew Luck recently shaved his head in support of his coach and Pagano made a stirring return after the Colts’ win last weekend, delivering a rousing speech to his team in the locker room post-game. You’re telling me a Jaguars team without Maurice Jones-Drew or a clue on offense/defense/special teams/coaching/marketing/trading for Tim Tebow is going to stop this emotion-fueled run? Nope. Colts – 35, Jaguars – 14.
Cameron: Colts – Shaved heads for solidarity with their head coach Chuck Pagano, Andrew Luck is on fire and #CHUCKSTRONG is in full swing. I just don’t see the Colts losing unless Blaine Gabbert hits an 80-yard miracle touchdown. That happened in game one, Tonight, this does not happen. Colts – 27, Jaguars – 13.
