Multiple news outlets are reporting that Andre 3000 and Big Boi, better known as the hip-hop duo Outkast, will reunite on stage for the first time in a decade.
When news first broke Tuesday afternoon many fans were skeptical that it would just be another in a long-list of rumors that have been circulating ever since the duo went on hiatus after 2006’s “Idlewild.”
However, a report on Revolt TV (Sean “Diddy” Combs’ new television channel) seemed to confirm not only that they would be headlining Coachella, but would also embark on a tour/headlining other festivals in 2014.
Here’s the full story from Revolt TV:
While it’s cool that they’ll be headlining a huge festival like Coachella for their return, the better news is that there will be subsequent shows after seeing as Coachella tickets are hard to come by as they sell out fast, not to mention one of the priciest tickets to get.
Currently it’s being reported as well that the plans for the reunion are solely for live shows and there are no plans for them to enter the studio to record any more new OutKast music.
That said, just having them back together is a feat that fans may never would’ve thought they’d see happen, so if the reunion proves as successful as it most likely will be, than it remains to be seen what the future will hold.
